About Me

Born in Goshen and raised in Middlebury, Elkhart County has been part of Ty's entire life. A graduate of Northridge High School in 2005, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University South Bend. While working his way through college, Ty became a part-time Deputy Assessor in October of 2007 for the Elkhart County Assessor's office and has been serving the Elkhart County community in some form or capacity since in connection with that office.

A husband to the love of his life, Lisa, and father of one son, Bryson, two roles which he feels come before all things except his God. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church & School, where he has served in numerous capacities from part of the youth ministry team to one of the chairs on the building committee overseeing their most recent parish and school expansion project out on the corner of CR 6 & Ash Road.

If you were to ask his friends and family to describe Ty, no doubt the first thing they would mention is the man he is pursuing to become. He places integrity and character as the epitome of what he must be to be worthy not only to be called dad by his son, husband by his wife but assessor by his community as well. Above all else, he hopes to little by little change the perception of the assessor's office to one that is viewed as a resource taxpayers deserve and not the hurdle they expect.
